Olacaceae and Schoepfiaceae in eastern Northeast Brazil

Abstract This study provides descriptions, identification key and illustrations of diagnostic characters, as well comments on the distribution habitat species Olacaceae Schoepficeae occurring in eastern portion northeastern Brazil, this area includes states Alagoas, Ceará, Paraíba, Pernambuco Rio Grande do Norte. The morphological descriptions are based samples collected during field expeditions (2017-2019) analysis herbarium specimens. Were recorded five four genera belonging to family (Cathedra rubricaulis, Dulacia gardneriana, Heisteria ovata, H. perianthomega Ximenia americana) one Schoepfiaceae (Schoepfia brasiliensis), these occur mainly Atlantic Forest domain (Lowland Montane Forests) also registered Caatinga Cerrado domains. D. gardneriana was expanded, Norte respectively. main vegetative characters useful for specific delimitation presence/absence armed branches, petiole dorso-ventrally flattened or cylindrical nerves impressed flat adaxial surface. staminodes, a pubescent ovary hypogynous disc, floral pedicel size diameter accrescent calyx fruits, most important reproductive determination.
